The Charlotte Racers Expo announced today that in addition to the trade show and auction, there will also be a sponsorship and marketing seminar targeted to short track racers on Saturday evening.
Held at the host hotel, the Comfort Suites Northlake, the seminar will begin at 6:30pm on Saturday evening, just as the trade show is closing for the day. Topics covered will include capturing the interest of and “selling” new sponsors on a racing program, maintaining support from existing sponsors, adding value to a sponsorship program, getting media coverage and other topics/exercises designed to elevate attendees’ sponsorship programs above others in the region.
The seminar will be led by Tony Stevens, current announcer for the UARA-STARS late model stock car touring series. In addition to a degree in communications with a concentration in public relations, he has worked in multiple capacities over his career such as competitor/crew member, media member, series/track official and PR/marketing representative. Those experiences span from local tracks to touring series such as the former ASA National Tour, NASCAR touring divisions, FASTRAK Racing Series for dirt crate late models and even the ARCA Racing Series.
Multiple seminar sponsors have donated various door prizes to be given away to attendees. Topping the list, RH2Way Radios has donated a new pair of Nitro Helmet Speakers, a $300 value, to be given away by random draw to early seminar registrants.
